Housebroken: Very close to being fully trained – has occasional accidents
Good with dogs/cats/kids: Yes, requires another dog to continue learning/Yes/Older Kids preferred as he gets startled easy with loud noises
Likes: He loves any dog toy that you will give him! He loves to throw it around & play with it. If there isn’t a toy, he will play with blankets. He loves to lay on a soft blanket as well. Treats – he loves anything that his foster sister & brother get Activities – he loves to lay in bed with foster family & listen to the TV, he finds the noises very interesting! Prefers crunchy toys vs squeaky toys.
Dislikes: Loud noises. He will either dart away from it or freeze if he is unable to get away.
Crate trained: Yes, His crate is very important to him & will be required when transitioning to new home
Fenced yard required: Required. Would run away if scared and does not do well on a leash.
Special Needs: Medical – dry eye in both eyes – will require eye lube 1-2 times per day. PK in both eyes – will require Optimmune 1-2 times per day. Due to the PK he is unable to see far away & very close up. He is unable to do a lot of stairs, but can do a few stairs if he can see the ground.
Hello my name is Turbo. I have had a pretty rough life and it took me a long time to come out of my shell. I have had two foster mom’s take great care of me and give me the extra attention to learn to be a loving pet and now I’m ready for a forever home.

I have a few special needs things my new forever home will have to help me with. I have small physical abnormalities that make me Asymmetrical; this will most likely cause some arthritis when I’m older. So my foster family has me on a joint supplement to help me out. I also have eye medicine that I need twice a day for Dry eye and Pigmentary keratitis, this is most common in brachycephalic dogs, such as Pugs, Boxers, Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs. This means I do not produce tears on my own and there is a discoloration of my cornea and lens causing some depth perception and vision issues. Due to this I sometimes have a hard time going up and down the stairs. I especially have a hard time if the stairs have hollow risers. Depending on your house I may need to be carried up and down the stairs. Housetraining I’m like 90% there with the occasional accident.

Now onto the fun stuff. I am a very sweet boy. I get along with my foster family’s pets. This includes 3 dogs and 4 cats. I like children and I like it when people sit next to me and pet me, my personality is more like a cat, than a dog. Although I don’t jump up on the furniture; so I’m naturally better than a cat . I am comfortable sleeping in my crate or dog bed. When I first wake up and after I come back in from morning potty break I REALLY want Breakfast. After breakfast, I get this little energy spike! I want to play with my toys and do zoomies. I like toys that make a crunchy sound more than squeaky toys. The squeaky noise startles me and I normally stop playing with it. I can be very entertaining though and I’m very gentle when I play. I like to chase things briefly like a cat chasing a ball of string. And then I catch it and wiggle it. But I don’t really play tug and pull. When you leave the house, I’m comfortable sleeping in my bed with a radio or tv on or my crate. I’m really looking for a forever home that will treat me like a member of their family and get to know my delicate personality. I’m a gem amongst pugs and you won’t meet another pug just like me.

Due to the high frequency of applicants NOT ALL pre-screening emails will be responded to. PPN does not allow pugs to be shipped as cargo. For approved out of state adoptions requiring airfare the pug must fit in an airline approved sized carrier able to fit under the seat. Out of state adopters must arrange for transport and in some cases we may have volunteers able to help.
